Relationship of adiponectin gene polymorphism and susceptibility to obesity in Han population

Objective To explore the relationship of adiponectin gene polymorphism and susceptibility to obesity in Han population.Methods RT-PCR and Taqman-MGB probe were performed to test the genotypes in 483 obesity cases(group A)and 517 normal controls(group B).Results The variant genotypes,rs2241767 AG or AG/GG had a higher risk for obesity than AA gene,especially in those of male,50 years old,lipoemia and nonsmoking.The females carrying rs12495941 GG/GT genotypes had a higher risk for obesity than those with GG genotype.ConclusionThe rs2241767 and rs12495941 polymorphism of adiponectin gene may play a role in the susceptibility of obesity in Han population.
