Effects of Shading on Growing Development of Lycoris aurea

2011
Different shading was applied to study the growing development and analyse the effects on golden spider lily(Lycoris aurea). The results were as follows:the 20% shading appeared scapes at the earliest, and the full exposure was the latest. The 40% shading had the longest average length of scape and the full exposure was the shortest. The effects of shading to the length of scape was significant.Blossom rate of the 40% was the highest;the full exposure was the lowest as well. So,it was more favorable to blossom at shading environment.Almost concentrate time of blossom were in early or middle September under different shading, and the influence was not significant. The 40% shading treatment showed the highest blossom rate, the longest time of lasted-blossom,more consistent of bloom stage, larger flowers and leaves, the more number of blade; However, the blossom under the full exposure was in October, which showed it could certain delay flowering time, but the time of lasted-blossom was shorter, the time of blade-spread out was delay as well as.With shading degree increasing, leaf chlorophyll content increasing gradually. To sum up,it could showed Lycoris aurea was fit for medium, but it was able to endure a shadow environment. The conclusion was the medium illumination intensity was more suitable for Lycoris aurea application outdoor.
