A GPU-Accelerated ADI Method for Transient Thermal Simulation with Parallel Cyclic Reduction

An efficient thermal simulation approach based on Graphics Processing Units (GPU) accelerated alternating-direction-implicit (ADI) method with parallel cyclic reduction (PCR) is presented in this paper. Compared with the conventional Thomas algorithm, the PCR can accelerate the ADI method by parallel computing on GPUs. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method are illustrated by the numerical example.
