Comparative Study of EST-SSR and Genomic-SSR in Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc

The genetic differences among 12 cultivars of mei(Prunus mume Sieb.et Zucc) were compared using EST-SSR and Genomic-SSR.The results showed that the average of number of alleles,effective number of alleles,the Shannon index and the polymorphic information content(PIC) value detected by EST-SSR was respectively 3.9,2.4,0.9,and 0.4,respectively.The average of number of alleles,effective number of alleles,the Shannon Index and the polymorphic information content(PIC) value detected by Genomic-SSR was respectively 6.0,4.1,1.5,and 0.7,respectively.Cluster analysis indicated that two SSR markers could effectively identify all the cultivars.Therefore,this study can provide basis for development and application of SSR markers in mei.
