Studies in Neonatal Calf Diarrhoea. VII. The Effects of Milk Intake
1978
SUMMARY Studies on the water and electrolyte metabolism of diarrhoeic and non-diarrhoeic calves indicated that they were able to withstand the effects of a two third milk input deficit over a period of four days and that deficits of water, sodium, potassium or chloride with or without diarrhoea were insufficient to cause death. The kidney showed remarkable powers of conservation.
