Evolving the user interface for knowledge-based command and control systems

Describes work undertaken towards the provision of an effective interface between user and machine, including the increased opportunities and challenges offered by a knowledge-based solution. User evaluation of text, graphics and explanation facilities and formats, and the use of MMI design tools are presented.
