25 Jahre DLR-Validitätsstudien zur Pilotenauswahl

2020
In the past twenty-five years, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) has carried out various validity studies that respectively focus on different aspects. The present contribution introduces four studies (N = 709) which focus on the cognitive skills and abilities of applicants for pilot training. The theoretical and practical training outcomes were chosen as validity criteria. Given that the predictors (DLR tests) as well as the criteria of the studies are comparable, a meta-analytic perspective was taken. This perspective allowed tracking the test validity over time and different selection settings. The results are arranged for each test individually. Lastly, the implications of the given results are discussed.
