2021
EnglishA prospective investigation on the psychopathological problems of children and adolescents during the COVID-19 lockdown, from March to May 2020, is presented. 422 outpatients from the Burgos Child and Youth Mental Health Team, aged 3 to 18 years-old, were followed up by telephone. At each consultation their health status was assessed with the GAF scale, the referred symptoms were registered, and a diagnosis was made. For analytical purposes, the lockdown was divided into five stages. GAF scores before and during lockdown, their changes across stages, the evolution of symptoms by stages, and the evolution of GAF by diagnosis were statistically compared. The results show that the GAF values did not worsen after the start of lockdown, there were no worsening stages, there were no differences in symptoms, and there were no worsening in any diagnostic condition. It is concluded that during the studied period no significant psychopathological effects were evidenced.
