Veterinary-sanitary examination and pathological indicators of wild ducks in Ust-Yansk district of Sakha (Yakutia)

Researches were conducted on the long-tailed ducks (moryanka) procured during the autumn and spring period in the Ust Yansk district  of the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic. Meat of ducks in autumn and spring was more well-fed, than during the spring period. An autopsy evidences that in organs and tissues of all ducks there were no special visible changes.  According to the results of organoleptic, physical and chemical, microscopical and microbiological analysis, and according to the content of pesticides it was established that meat of  ducks conform to requirements of normative documents. Veterinary and sanitary assessment evidences that meat of wild ducks is recommended for the use in the alimentary purposes.
