of anxiety. Patients’ demographic information was requested from the patients at baseline. Results: The results indicated that Internetbased patient education’s effect on patients’ anxiety scores are similar to face to face education. Patientseducation did not reduce patients’ anxiety scores. However, anxiety scores decreased on the operation day, before the operation and after the operation. The amount of patients scoring their anxiety moderate or high was quite low in all phases of ambulatory surgery care. Implications for nursing: Internet-based patient education is as effective a method as face to face education for the ambulatory orthopaedic surgery patient.
