Neureprotective drugs efficiency in patients with chronic tension headaches

2006
: Authors examined 126 patients with chronic tension headaches. Patients were divided in two groups: general and control. The control group received conventional therapy (tizanidin, fluoxetin, vinpocetin, manual acupressure active points of m. trapezius and temporo-mastoideus part of the head); in the group besides standard medicines was used mexidol. Before and after the treatment clinical neurophisiological examination was done, including electroneuromyography. Increasing evidence suggests that combination of basic medications with mexidol is the most effective method for treating TH.
