Embedding Linux: issues, questions, and a few answers

This talk will discuss many of the misunderstood, unseen or unrecognized issues which are associated with porting and optimizing Linux for embedded devices. Topics will include: Common myths and misunderstandings of the GPL; the distinct challenges associated with porting Linux to four types of processor: "Commodity", "Commodity-related", "Niche", and "New"; tasks, issues and questions that must be recognized for each of the selected Linux packages or elements, and system integration and program management tasks, issues, and questions that are independent from the Linux porting tasks but just as important.
