CONSTRUÇÃO E INSTRUMENTAÇÃO DE UM PEDAL SENSOR DE FORÇAS E MOMENTOS.

2005
A great number of biaxial pedals are available for sport application and scientific research. A biaxial pedal, however, does not provide a complete kinetic evaluation. This study aimed to develop a triaxial pedal, designed to measure forces and moments during pedaling by means of strain gauges. Results showed that the triaxial pedal developed was able to measure the force and the moment in axes x, y, z. It is believed that the findings obtained in this project will contribute to the enhancement of biomechanical aspects of cycling. The triaxial pedal may prove to be a useful tool for research and teaching activities in sport sciences schools, in the evaluation of pedaling during cycling and in clinical practice for the rehabilitation of patients.
