The optimum interference suppressor in direct sequence spread spectrum

2004
This paper analyzes the optimum interference suppressor in direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS), optimized in the minimum bit error bit (MBER) sense, and proves that the Wiener filter belongs to the set of the optimum suppressor. Applying the adaptive filter to DSSS, suppressing interference and despreading can be done simultaneously without prior knowledge of the spreading code and the statistical characterization of the interference. The adaptive filter using the discrete Fourier transform/least mean square ( DFT/LMS ) algorithm significantly simplifies the design of the receiver and notably enhance the capability of the anti-interference.
