Pharmaceutical agent, its preparation and production of granule or pellet thereof

PURPOSE: To obtain an agent which can faultlessly be pressed into tablets and has a high contents of an active substance. CONSTITUTION: This agent in the form of tablets, granules or pellets contains, as an active substance, thioctic acid (α-lipoic acid, i.e., 1,2-dithiacyclopentane-3- valeric acid), mesna (sodium mercaptoethanesulfonate) or flupirtine maleate in a ratio sufficient to provide a >=45 wt.% or particularly >=85 wt.% content of the active substance. The granules required for producing the tablets are produced by once or several times granulating a solid material consisting of the active substance or a mixture of the active substance and an adjuvant, through addition of water to the solid material in an amount sufficient to provide a >30 wt.% ratio of water to the dry weight of the solid material, while inputting maximum energy. At this time, as the adjuvant, a binder such as Cellulose derivative, starch or polyvinyl alcohol(PVA), or a wetting agent such as a lower organic acid ester of a C1 to C4 alcohol, can be used.
