Diamond compact matrix

2010
The utility model provides a diamond compact matrix, wherein the matrix has a double-layer structure and comprises an upper part and a lower part in connection with the upper part. The faying face of the upper and lower parts has a round wave trough structure with mutual insertion. The upper part comprises, by mass, cobalt 8%-15% and tungsten carbide 85%-92%, wherein the sizes of the tungsten carbide crystals are from 0.5 to 3um. The lower part comprises, by mass, cobalt 12%-20% and tungsten carbide 80%-88%, wherein the sizes of the tungsten carbide crystals are from 2 to 10um. Having finer crystals and lower cobalt content, the upper part of the matrix which is combined with a diamond enables to further enhance thermal stability and wear resistance of a compact. Due to slightly coarser crystals and slightly higher cobalt content, the lower part of the matrix which is far away from the diamond enables to increase the toughness and service lifetime of the compact. The faying face which has a round wave trough structure and is located between two matrixes significantly improves the bonding strength of the two matrixes.
