Influence of the crystal field on the angular distribution of the photons resulting from the 3γ decay of positronium

It is shown that oscillations in the count rate of photons resulting from the 3γ decay of positronium are due to the quadrupole moment and the tensor polarizability of positronium in matter. This indicates the possibility of determining experimentally the sign of the effective quadrupole constant of positronium in a crystal
