Abstract Vibrating reed (VR) and electrical resistance measurements were performed on single-crystal NbSe 2 with hexagonal c -axis approximately parallel or perpendicular to an applied magnetic field, H . Field-cooling data revealed two peaks in the reed dissipation, 1/ Q . The upper peak (at T U ) occurs near the temperature where R ≈ 0, and the lower peak is amplitude-dependent and hysteretic.
