Ratings and Rankings of National Level

2016
This chapter deals with ratings of nations for the selected components: the degree of development of democracy, the condition of health care, the competitiveness of higher education, and security. Confrontation of different methodologies is the most severe in those areas. The unavailability of individual indicators and the desire to substitute them by an aggregated assessment of other, available indicators are most difficult to calculate ratings. Thus the success in those areas depends on supranational political and economic ratings, and this weakens their significance.
