Effect of nursing intervention on the mental status, gastrointestinal function and plasma levels of motilin and gastrin of patients undergoing gastrointestinal tract operation

2013
Objective To explore the effect of nursing intervention on the mental status, gastrointestinal function and plasma levels of motilin and gastrin of patients under going gastrointestinal tract operation. Methods All 80 patients undergoing gastrointestinal tract operation were divided randomLy into nursing intervention group and traditional nurs ing group. All patients received traditional gastrointestinal perioperative care.Patients in nursing intervention group received comprehensive nursing intervention. Results Three days after surgery,SAS and SDS scores in nursing intervention group decreased significantly than that before surgery(P 0.05).Peristalsis recovery times, flatus time and defecations time of patients of nursing intervention group were significantly shorter than that of traditional nursing group(P 0.05).3 days after surgery, the plasma levels of motilin and gastrin of the two groups increased significantly than that before surgery(P 0.05 or P 0.01),and the increasing range is more obviously in nursing intervention group(P 0.05).Conclusion Nursing intervention can increase mental status, felicitate the recovery of gastrointestinal function and diet for patients under going gastrointestinal tract operation, and the mechanism may relate to the increasing levels of motilin and gastrin.
