One‐Pot Cascade Reactions of 1‐Arylpenta‐3,4‐dien‐2‐ones Leading to 2‐Arylphenols and Dibenzopyroanones.

A novel and efficient method for the synthesis of 2-arylphenols through Michael addition and intramolecular aldol condensation of the easily obtainable arylpentadienones (I) and (VI) with activated ketones is developed.
