MSCT diagnosis and evaluation for primary retroperitoneal giant tumors in adults

Objective To analyze and summarize the MSCT features of primary retroperitoneal giant tumors in adults,and to evaluate the MSCT diagnostic value.Methods MSCT findings of 28 primary retroperitoneal giant tumous in adults confirmed by pathology were retrospectively analyzed.Results In 28 cases,there were 6 cases of liposarcoma,5 cases of leiomyosarcoma,4 cases of malignant fibrous histiocytoma(MFH),3 cases of teratoma,cystic lymphangioma,neurolemmoma,lymphoma had 2 cases for each,neurofibroma,primitive neuroectodermal tumors(PNET),lipoma and pheochromocytoma had 1 case for each.Some of them had some typical CT findings.Conclusion MSCT plays an important role in the diagnosis of retroperitoneal tumor and is helpful to show the characteristic features of them,especially show the relationship of the tumor and surrounding structures.CT scanning is valuable for both diagnosis and the staging of tumors.
