The Fundamental Contradiction Between Art and Market

Nowadays,there is a fundamental contradiction between art and market during the rapid development of art market.The expanding of art industry profits from the market and depends on it;While the utilitarian nature of market inevitably results in the "de-artisticization" of art,which has done serious harm to the art itself.This article tries to deeply reflect on this dilemma of art from different views of philosophy and economics,including three forms of artworks,the utilitarian nature of the art market,the "de-artisticization" in art market,two modes of the art market,and how to deal with this situation.
