Characteristic features of the magnetic properties of titanium nickelide intermetallics

1992
A study was made of the magnetic properties of the intermetallic compound TiNi at temperatures 4.2-400 K. It was established experimentally that the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of TiNi was governed by a structural phase transformation of the martensitic type and depended strongly on the conditions during the preparation of a material. The orientational paramagnetism of TiNi was due to an impurity in the form of a phase containing oxygen, which was removed by vacuum annealing
