The Behavior of the Thin Film on the Tool Face in Cutting Calcium Deoxidized Steel
1975
This paper describes the behaviors of the built-up thin film on the tool face in cutting of calcium deoxidized steel. The effect of constitution of Ca, Al, and S contents on formation of the built-up thin layer is examined by cutting the steel the wide range of the cutting conditions. It is found that the too temperature at the maximum height of the built-up layer is proportional to the melting point of the oxide inclusion. Formation of the layer depending on cutting conditions is also explained by above the relation.
