La experiencia cordobesa de un grupo familiar portugués y judeo-converso a fines del siglo XVI y principios del XVII
2007
By the time the Spanish and Portuguese crowns merged under the reign of Felipe II, their colonies in Brazil, Rio de la Plata, Paraguay and Tucuman were variants within an expanding Hispanic world, which show some similarities in their historie processes and, especially, regarding the construction of a personal and family relationship network that made them particulary interdependent. Cordoba is a very remarkable case that can be studied through the analysis of a family whose members were converted jews, permanently pursued and suspected by the Holy Office in both kingdoms. In other words, through case-analysis, I intend to provide elements of judgment useful for studying migration and understanding the development process of this part of the Indian society.
