First laser performances at 946 nm, on the 4F3/2→4I9/2 transition with Nd:Y2O3 transparent ceramic

0.4 at. % of Nd:Y2O3 transparent ceramic generate for the very first time 1W output laser at 946 nm with 11 W of 804 nm DL absorbed pump. The corresponding slope efficiency was 13.4 %.
