UAV-equipped scale camera in DEM application

UAVs are used in terrain aerial photography and modeling, and have the advantages of fast cruising speed, easy mobilization, and high work efficiency, but such areas as beaches, collapsed areas, and concrete slopes may be limited by flight altitude and monotonous terrain. In fact, it is easy to produce photo matching errors, resulting in deformation of the results and difficult quality control. Therefore, the mobile device is equipped with a laser ranging as a scale camera, mounted on a gimbal with a self-leveling function, and directly measures the distance in a direct measurement manner, and matches the RTK trajectory and distance in time series. The measurement of the ground DEM and the reference of the filtering of the measuring points by the photos not only save the trouble of photo modeling, but also ensure the measurement quality.
