Effect of chlorophenols on the mineralization of 14C-labelled rice straw

Effect of chlorinated phenols viz. pentachlorophenol, trichlorophenol, dichlorophenol on mineralization of 1 4 c-labelled rice straw in red laterite soil was studied for 60 days. PCP and TCP had no effect on mineralization at 10 ppm concentration but inhibited mineralization at 100 ppm level. However DCP @ 10 ppm level was found to be stimulatory and a marginal inhibition was observed at 100 ppm level.
