Automated Sorting and Handling Process

Automated sorting and handling processes aims at both reducing human errors, which affect the quality of the process, and reducing processing times. In addition to the main objective, increasing productivity, the following objectives were considered: inspecting the pallets, sorting the pallets according to the established criteria, and handling them in predetermined areas. By integrating an Omron FZ4 video camera, object inspection and data transfer were performed. The algorithm of command and control of the sorting and handling process has been done in the IndraWorks Engineering software and the HMI has been done in the WinStudio software.
