Curriculum of a given discipline is a programmatic document which stipulates the objective of student-training ,courses to be offered, time allocation as well as teaching requirements in order to provide the society with qualified graduates. It also serves as a basis for compiling textbooks, formulating teaching syllabus for each course and its examination, determining the scope and level of difficulty of the national examination as well as for checking and assessing the quality of teaching and learning. Since Business English has been approved by the Ministry of Education as a discipline,it is an urgent task to formulate a national curriculum for Business English.By analysing some problems in the existing program, this paper expounds the importance of such curriculum and syllabus from the perspective of education science, and points out that the National English Curriculum for English can be taken as a reference in formulating a national curriculum for Business English.
