Migration and Settlement: 14. United States

1982
The purpose of this report is to illustrate how multiregional demographic methods can shed light on both the short- and long-term redistribution implications of newly emerging patterns of migration and natural increase in the United States. An overview of current patterns of spatial population development is first presented and multi-regional techniques are used to examine population redistribution across the four U.S. census regions. The multi-regional methodology is then extended to the intra-regional context of city-suburb redistribution. (EXCERPT)
