453 THE ASSOCIATION OF GENITOURINARY CANCERS WITH BRCA CARRIER STATUS IN A CLINICALLY TESTED COHORT FROM A SINGLE INSTITUTION

2013
(mean 16.6 v. 14.3). The average time for the patient to complete the survey was slightly shorter with the iPad (4.40 v. 4.56 min). In either instance the treating physician had immediate access to the EPIC-CP data, however, the total time for the data to be entered in the research database was significantly different as the iPad responses were immediately uploaded while the PAPI data was manually transcribed, taking an average of 8.4 days to entry. The mean question omitted rate was higher in the iPad group (4.3% to 1.9%); the questions omitted using PAPI were primarily those regarding sexual functioning (Q7-9), while the iPad missing items showed no pattern. Domain totals and total EPIC-CP scores were 100% accurate in the iPad group versus only 50% for the PAPI group. CONCLUSIONS: The data suggest a preference for using an electronic device to complete a survey. While there were minor result differences between the groups, responses captured using the iPad proved to be quick and viable for collecting data in this population.
