Effect of Periodontal Initial Therapy on Glycometabolism and Lipid Metabolism of Type 2 Diabetic Patients with Chronic Periodontitis in Ningxia Hui and Han Populations.

Objective:To observe the change of glycometabolism and lipid metabolism of type 2 diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis in Ningxia Hui and Han populations received periodontal initial therapy.Methods:120 type 2diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis including 60 Hui and 60 Han were divided into case group and control group.All patients were checked up their periodontal clinical indexes.Blood analyses were carried out for glycometabolism and lipid metabolism.The case group received periodontal initial therapy and conventional diabetes medication;the control group only received conventional diabetes medication.Results:PD,HbA1c,TG and TC of the case group were redused obviously after periodontal initial therapy,and the differrences were statistically significant in different groups(P0.05);to a certain extent AL and FPG were changed and the differences in different groups were not statistically significant.All indexes of the control group were changed barely.The differents of every index between the populations were not statistically significant.There were significant differences of PD and HbA1cbetween the case group and the the control group(P0.01),and the statistical results of AL,FPG,TG and TC were opposite to that of PD and HbA1c.Conclusion:Periodontal initial therapy can improve the periodontal health and the level of HbA1c of type 2 diabetic patients with chronic periodontitis in Ningxia Hui and Han populations.It can not improve lipid metabolism.
