Dimethylsulfide (DMS) and dimethylsulfoniopropionate (DMSP) concentrations in sea water have been measured during the Darwin cruise between Las Palmas, Canaries, and Barry, Wales, in December 1993-January 1994, the Belgica cruise between Bordeaux, France, Cork, Ireland, and Zeebrugge, Belgium, in April-May 1994 and the Poseidon cruise between Reykjavik, Iceland, and Lisbon, Portugal, in August and September 1995.
