Research on dairy farms minimum economic scale based on the opportunity cost

The minimum economic scale of dairy farm mattered to farmers' investment decisions,employment choices,and dairy industry's healthy and sustainable development.Based on Cobb-Douglas production function theory,this paper took suburban county in Henan province,Zhengzhou city as an example,reseached,defined,measured and calculated the minimum economic scale of dairy farm under the opportunity cost.The results showed that,in the case of the existence of the labor and investment opportunities,for farmers in suburban county,Zhengzhou city,the minimum economic scale were 13 and 30.
