Natural Course of Extrahepatic Nonmalignant Partial Portal Vein Thrombosis in Patients with Cirrhosis

Nonmalignant partial portal vein thrombosis (PVT) spontaneously decreased in 19 (45%) of 42 cirrhotic patients, and progression and regression of PVT were not associated with clinical outcome, which appeared to be dependent on the severity of the cirrhosis.
