Cyclic Gmp, Cyclic Amp, And The Yin Yang Hypothesis Of Biologic Regulation

The purpose of this presentation is twofold: (1) to describe a concept of biologic regulation in wh ich two cellular components, cyclic GMP and cycl ic AMP, are envisioned to provide the facilitory and suppressive ini1uences that conirol a varielY of biologic events; and (21 to iniroduce the concept that the intracellular availabil ity of specific cations may sele("\i\'el~' regulale cydic nucleotide participation in modulating cell ular e\·ents.
