Analysing the Heat and Exergy Transfer in Steam Generators of Nuclear Power Plants with Pressurized Light Water Reactors

2019
This paper carries out a quantitative and qualitative study of the heat transfer from a Steam Generators of Nuclear Power Plants with Pressurized light Water Reactors. Firstly, the pairs of steam parameters (pressure-feed-water temperature, which can be reached for given temperatures of the primary fluid), were determined with the "pinch point" method, as well as the conditions in which they can be reached. Next, the method LMTD equivalent is applied to determine which of the pairs of parameters maximize the exergy flow rate transmitted to the working fluid and, implicitly, the exergetic efficiency of the steam generator. The paper shows an example of applying the models, and it analyses the obtained results.
