The heat treatment of uranium

1962
Abstract A method of annealing uranium which produces a fine-grained, quasi-isotropic structure is described. It is shown that the strength of uranium can be improved by annealing from the β- and γ-phases, and the influence of annealing on the fine and coarse grain structure, depending on the chemical composition, is considered. The creep of uranium in the range of temperatures of the α-phase is investigated.
