The invention discloses a method for preparing iron oxide red by utilizing a valuable metal ferrous post-leaching solution of wet metallurgy. The method comprises the following steps of: regulating a pH value of the valuable metal ferrous post-leaching solution to prepare an iron oxide red prefabrication; and desulphurizing the iron oxide red prefabrication to obtain a high-quality iron oxide red product, wherein the desulphurization method includes one or more of calcination desulphurization, high-pressure decomposition desulphurization and washing desulphurization. The method for preparing the iron oxide red by utilizing the valuable metal ferrous post-leaching solution of wet metallurgy can be well butt joined with a main extraction flow of the valuable metal, so that the iron can be maximally removed, content of sulfur in the prefabricated iron oxide red can be greatly reduced, the quality of the prepared iron oxide red product is high, the requirement of the iron-making industry on the content of sulfur in iron core concentrate can be met, and the iron slag in the wet metallurgy is converted to the high-quality iron oxide red product through the method.
