Nuevos registros de Guzmania (Bromeliaceae) para las regiones central, oriental y sur de Venezuela New records of Guzmania (Bromeliaceae) from Central, Eastern and southern of Venezuela

Based on a survey of 751 herbarium specimens of Guzmania, five new state records (Carabobo, Aragua, Monagas, Delta Amacuro) are presented for Guzmania acorifolia, G. altsonii, G. coriostachya, and G. monostachia. Herbaria surveyed were: CAR, F, GUYN, HERZU, MER, MERC, MO, MY, NY, PORT, SEL, US and VEN. Additional information compiled from the specimens for a taxonomic study of the genus include morphological measurements, habitat, and geographical distribution and altitudinal range.
