A Application of adaptive generalized S transform in formation Q value extraction

2020
The quality factor Q is a dimensionless parameter which describes the intensity of seismic wave absorption by the incompletely elastic stratum. The frequency jump point exists in the seismic tuning non-stationary signal, which leads to the low precision of Q value estimation. In this paper, an adaptive generalized S transform is proposed to estimate the Q value, and the optimal window shape parameters are obtained by using the energy concentration evaluation method; then the single frequency Teager-Kaiser energy of seismic wave is used and its maximum value is taken as the instantaneous energy of time-frequency spectrum; finally, the relative attenuation of energy in the sampling period time is calculated, and the attenuation quasi-Q value is obtained. The application study of analog signals and real data shows that the Q value estimation method based on adaptive generalized S transform can adaptively adjust the window shape parameters according to the input signals, achieve local optimal time-frequency resolution, and improve the estimation accuracy of Q value.
