Comparison of optimum energy scheduling of emergency generators of a large hospital with renewable energy system using mathematical programming method

2017
This paper presents a comparison of optimum energy scheduling of emergency generators (EGs) of a large hospital with renewable energy system using mathematical programming methods. A large hospital has the EGs to keep a medical service when a power failure occurred in disaster In using the EGs, the hospital has to save the fuel consumption in island operation mode to drive the EGs as long as possible operation. Installations of a photovoltaic power generation system (PV) is becoming popular measures against power failure in the hospital. However, the output of the PV is unstable by the weather condition. The optimization on of an energy scheduling of the combination of EGs with the PV is needed This paper presents the optimum method due to save the fuel consumption of the EGs. As a result, achieved approximately 15.6% in fuel savings by optimal operation from linear programming, and approximately 16.9% in fuel saving by optimal operation from quadratic programming.
