Determination of Bloch wall thickness in Fe(4 at% Si) single crystals by means of neutron refraction close to the Curie point

Abstract A beam of thermal neutrons traversing a Bloch wall is partly refracted. The intensity distribution on refracted and direct beams depends on the wall thickness. A comparison of the calculated intensities with the measured ones gives the wall thickness: d = 224 nm and 272 nm at T = 650 and 700°C respectively.
