A new method for measuring emission rates from point and surface sources

1990
A new method is introduced for measuring emission rates from point or surface sources. The method is based on the creation of a continuous twin source with tracer gas. The emission rate is calculated from the tracer gas emission rate and the correlation of the concentrations of pollutant and tracer gas measured at the same points, close to the source. Laboratory tests show a very good correlation between predicted and measured emission rates. One field test was performed, which also gave good reults.
