Background: Various neoplastic and non-neoplasticdiseases affect the eye and orbit. Different tissuesof ocular area contribute to lesions that variesfrom inflammation to different types of neoplasticconditions. Histopathology is the key to diagnosisfor most neoplastic and non-neoplastic swellings.Histopathological studies have the indirect role toongoing patient care. Materials and Methods: It was a retrospective studyof ocular biopsies done in Himalayan Eye HospitalGharipatan, Pokhara. These biopsy specimens weresubmitted during the period of one year (2018/12/1to 2019/12/1). Results: The total number of biopsies we analyzedfor ocular lesions were 102. Maximum number ofpatients were from the second decade. Out of 102cases, 7(6.86%) were neoplastic and 95(96.07%)were non neoplastic cases. Two cases of SCC werediagnosed out of 102 specimens, while one case eachof non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and meibomian glandcarcinoma were detected. Conclusion:Epidermal cyst and nevus were the mostcommon non-neoplastic lesions in this study. SCCand non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma were the commonestmalignant lesions in the present study.
