Investigation of Earthquake-prone Areas as a Limit Pattern Recognition Problem
1998
This chapter begins the process of linking the theory to actual applications. Such applications will be described in detail by the authors in the next book of this series. The application considered here is the determination of strongly earthquake-prone areas and is one of the classical examples of a concrete application of classification pattern-recognition techniques [2, 7, 24, 28, 31, 51, 56, 66, 67, 73, 79, 93, 105, 144, 166].
