Study on Height Growth and Phenological Rhythms for Different Provenances of Juniperus monsperma Sarg.

2011
Through three-year continuous observation on height growth and phenological rhythms of seven provenances of Juniperus monsperma Sarg.planted in northeast edge of Kubuqi Desert, the results show: there is obvious differences on height growth rhythm, germinating rate in spring, rate of stopping growth and leaf chlorophyll content among seven provenances.TY7 provenance germinates and flushes leaves at the earliest time, with TY4 provenance be the latest one.TY6 and TY7 provenance flushes leaves 5 to 10 days earilier than TY2 and TY4.The time to stop growing has obviouse negative correlation with the latitude of provenances, which the time of stop growing comes earlierly as the increase of latitude. The provenances in the north stop growing 2 to 10 days earlierly than the ones in the south.TY1 provenance has a higher rate of stoping growth, with TY4 be the later one.The time to stop growing has a positive correlation with dieback rate, which the dieback rate of provenance is low if the plant stop growing earlierly, contrarily,it's high.
