The subject of the present invention is a means for the oxidative dyeing of hair based on a customary developer/coupler combination in hair dyeing containing 0.01 to 1.0 % wt. 2-amino-6-chloro-4-nitrophenol or its physiologically acceptable, water-soluble salt, and a process for the oxidative dyeing of hair using this agent.
